FIRE-RES is a Horizon 2020-funded project that aims to boost the resilience of landscapes and communities against extreme wildfires across Europe. Running from 2021 to 2025, it brings together over 30 research, policy, and practice partners.
FIRE-RES goals and strategies
The project operates through Living Labs in 11 European regions and Chile, testing innovative wildfire management solutions in real-world contexts. It combines science, local knowledge, and technology to co-create effective tools and strategies.
Key outputs include real-time fire behavior modeling tools, decision-support systems, and participatory landscape and risk management approaches. FIRE-RES also promotes innovation through public engagement and open calls.
